Super people are ruthless for a reason. This trade forum works because once a deal is struck its considered concrete. There have been people who copped much worse for cancelling their trade after the bo was met. You said if it was grandfathered you would drop the house and that makes even less sense. Why get rid of a house that cant be placed ever again?
Not sure how many other ways I could have told you it wasn't grandfathered. Was hoping to place and give you it back for the deed but someone beat me to it. Not even sure why you did it that way instead of just trying to replace yourself to prove it wasn't grandfathered. Odd reaction

Mine was more of a joke than anything since Blackeye is a notorious house looter. But if you were going to drop it anyway, why not try and place it right back and you would have had your answer. Missed out on 2 mill. Honestly I think you should have some slack since it seems like a new player mistake, but for future reference, vets hold people accountable here because it keeps the shady ones in check.

this is ridiculous. 100k ?? where is this even stated in the trade forum rules??? how did i waste his time? regardless, it sucks that i tried to express my dilemma, and the immediate response is "your going on a shitlist", and then you start @ mentioing all your friends. i was being stubborn about waiting till trying it on test after it was updated with the latest patches, because that is what was recommended to me in IRC. instead, people interpret it as me trying to avoid the auction. looking back, i shoudl have just pm blackeye directly. i thought it would be better to post it in the thread. anyway maybe i just dont belong on this trade forum. seems like you guys run things really strict around here. nothing is up for discussion. just black and white.
Im not making myself the victim. Firstly this house was gifted to me from someone else. I genuinely thought this property was grandfathered after seeing the comment on the thread posted after the BO, and after talking to people on IRC. If so, i wanted to take down the house so that the nujelm graveyard could be pure and house free, because i believe no house should really be here. but by your logic i am still bound to sell it. which makes sense i suppose, matter of opinion. it is what it is.
Super - ill explain my bashing as well. In my opinion once the buyout is placed you should consider the item sold to be someone elses property unless something happens on their end and the deal falls apart. In my eyes you demolished a house that no longer belonged to you. Your opinion on grandfathered houses became irrelevant as soon as the bo was posted. If the auction is still during the bidding phase you still own it until the auction ends. This forum is the one place that even in game enemies will come to trade items and 99.99% of the time all deals are honoured. People are very strict in this section because the whole thing is built on trust of deals been done properly
Wow, I so I just woke up to all of this... that's a really surprising development imo, and it really sucks. Fact is, I BO'd that house. And now somebody else is owning it. @super the seller here is claiming that he dropped it and he did not replace it instantly after dropping it and that another person is owning it now. This would mean, he skipped a ~2mil profit and destroyed his trade honor for nothing? This is really hard to believe for me. So let me state my thoughts chronologically while reading through this post: 1) Why shouldn't this building be traded even if it was grandfathered? It is a typical GY house, not blocking anything and quite similar to other houses at other graveyards. Apart from that, @Chris himself has been creating grandfathered houses by placing them manually. The best example would be Iago's Justice Island tower. It was placed as some kind of bug-report reward. And some of the most important houses, like the Ocllo Bank vendor smalls or the Skara Brae small tower are grandfathered by now. Or the Serpents Wall Stable house. I mean, there really is no reason to drop this house at all, even if it was grandfathered. 2) Even if Telamon's/ @Chris knowledge is limited, he should have been able to easily verify whether the house is grandfathered or not. I know he did that service for many other players before. Last time for the other houses in Nujelm and for ShadowJack. But sure, he isn't obliged to help out, especially when he is busy in RL. 3) By the way, someone said above that nobody tried to place that house during the land rush. That's totally wrong. I and like a dozen other people tried to place that house during the land rush too. I just had the wrong house deed on me. 4) @super said, he got the house as a gift. Afaik this house was placed by snailtrails (EDIT: I got PMs that it was someone else who initially placed it), who is still playing here and I doubt he would hand out stuff for free. Am I wrong? If so I am sorry for pulling snailtrails into this. Please correct me if so. So, who gave you the house then @super ? 5) @super claims the house was dropped to verify whether it is grandfathered. Okay, but why wasn't it replaced then afterwards so that it is sold to me? 6) @super said he talked with other people in IRC too and was told the house is grandfathered. Who said that apart from @Erlkonig in this thread? It's important, because I am trying to figure out what bullshit is happening here, and who is involved with the crap. To conclude, I think my rule #1 for UO gaming comes into play here: Don't trust anybody. Especially not someone's word (@super) who claims things like "people told me", "I got it as a gift myself", "I will drop it when it's grandfathered", etc etc bla bla. So one possibility is, someone else bid a higher amount for the house in private. super realized the BO was too low and that he can earn more money. As the holy rules of this forum are usually very important to our community, some fake story had to be fabricated to explain how this house isn't going into my hands and into some other guys ownership. Another possibility is extreme incompetence and high amount of newbness... If I wasn't so desillusioned by now, I would formally call for a FBI like special investigation by @Chris/ @Treasureman / @Treasureman_Retired / @The Cigarette Smoking Man into this. And afaik Chris could easily check whether the house has been dropped, who is owning it now, how much time passed between the drop and replacing of the house (if it happened at all), whether the house was really a gift, whether there are signs of corruption in the private forum chats of super, etc etc etc. But I doubt, anybody is going to do anything here. And we are all grown ups and have more important things to do than to bitch about a stupid house, don't we. Or maybe not? The bigger problem is, when this happens more often in trade forums. When other people start doing it too and shady shit happens more often. I mean, let's look at it historically: crap happened before, people complained about it loudly, it was denied to be happening by staff and involved vets and years later the proof appeared and we got the anti-shill bid rules and the ban on multiple forum accounts for trades that we have now. Whatever, I am wasting too much time here. Whoever is fucking around with this house and the rules, I hope this happens to it: PS: To clarify some things. I wouldn't have accepted a 100k check or whatever. That's not necessary if there are really good reasons why a trade is cancelled. PPS: I don't put people on blacklists or stalk them for such crap. I have better stuff to do with my life. There are only a few people here, that I will harass/grief/loot on special purpose. And even then it's not personal, it's just ingame vendettas that belong to the game and not RL.

Something doesn't add up. Guy joins in Nov of 2017, gets lucky enough to place a house in Nujelm, could have made a 2 mil profit and then pulls out, drops the house?
