Mage Tournament, Sunday 9th July

Greetings fellow citizens of Britannia!

I will be hosting a mage tournament in the Palm Grove, north of the shrine of Honor, on Sunday the 9th July. The tournament will be a knockout format, with randomized brackets.

This gives anyone interested enough time to train an appropriately skilled individual to take part (you will need magery/meditation/wrestling/resist/eval).


1st place prize will be 1 MILLION gold + 20 platinum
2nd place prize will be a 500k gold + 10 platinum

There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!!!

It will be held on Sunday 9th July @
4pm Pacific Time (PT) /
7pm Eastern Time (ET) /
Midnight British Summer Time (BST)

The rules will be a traditional 5x format:

• No weapons are permitted to be used
• No nox mages
• No magic items such as wands
• No potions
• No special moves can be used (stun)
• No healing with bandages
• No magic reflect/reactive armour/protection may be cast or active prior to fighting
• No paralyze (although this can be a lot of fun!)
• No fleeing the arena after the fight starts
• No pre-casting prior to the wall dropping
• If you run out of reagents, you won't have the opportunity to restock

For the sake of clarification:

• Tactics is a permitted skill
• Anatomy is a permitted skill
• Wearing armour is permitted
• "Daggering" (spell cancellation via use of a dagger) is permitted

Spectators are welcome.

After this event, you should host a warriors duel. Platemail armor and Viking swords. Maybe a limit of like 10 bandaids that the players have to really time when to use sparingly and when they’re gone, they’re gone. I always thought something like that would be a lot of fun for everyone, since it will basically come down to RNG, but the only ‘skill factor’ involved would be whether or not you waste those bandaids, or time them efficiently.
