****Throughout the ages the color of black has been described as a great many things. To some it is the absence of all light, while others prefer to inversely call it the presence of all colors except white. Jupiter had a much more intimate relationship with the color of night, with the source of the darkness that descends as each dusk settles… He knew that the darkness was and ever has been as real as he was. And he was loath now just as every time previous to come face to face with it. For the darkness was the very reason his robes remained grey and if it were not for his resolute adherence to the path of light they would be as pitch black as those of Xanadu the Mad or Li Qwan the Vile. Yet this time his excursion into the catacombs of the deep would not be alone, and this is what gave him great pause. Those brave, yet unfortunate souls who now followed him had no way to fully comprehend the finality which was the only way to pass through to that wretched place. **** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “You have all come at an hour that could very well be the final one in which any of us may hope to see the ray of another dawn,” Jupiter solemnly welcomed those who had arrived at the Paws tower. He stared a moment at the odd man who found it necessary to repeatedly and without request assure everyone one “Mee am Mike”. As per the usual, the cosmos had not allowed him sufficient time to thoroughly vet each of the volunteers before him. He resolved in his mind that the best he could do, would be to thoroughly prepare them for the perils that waited. “The temporal judgements of men are to you all suspended until this hour passes,” Jupiter explained to the company before him, “among you are artisans, some warriors, some mercenaries, others perhaps labeled thieves, and perhaps one of you can only be loosely identified as humanoid, but you all are heroes and you all bear the last light of hope.” Low murmurs and some slowly nodding heads was the only reply. He lead the group to the place where the veil was thin and he could best open the path. Before leading the group through he explained that in no uncertain terms, death was the only doorway through which they could pass, but in so doing, they would convert their inner light, dim or dull or bright as it may be, into a beacon that would help alert the eternal beings to humanity’s plight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captions for each section of still frames should provide some insight for each part of the Company of Light's progression. Introductions, heavenly visitations, and the passage through the fire! After passing through the gate, the guardians sought to claim the souls of the Company of Light. Fortunately without a single casualty all were restored to a state of limbo, and were given their light to hold. If they perish here there was great risk their light would be extinguished forever. As per the norm, Jupiter failed to sufficiently prepare for such a harrowing journey in advance. Thus this temporary pit stop in Papua restored his supply of mandrake root… After leaving Papua there was a brief power struggle as Franz, clearly a bit touched in the head after passing through nearly seven tiers of hell, tried to wrest Jupiter’s staff from him. After the power struggle was resolved, the group raced back to Paws before the dusk settled, for if it did, no light could pierce the impending darkness. The group arrived at the shrine just in time and set their lights upon it. No sooner were the lights put in order, when they were expelled from the shrine’s pedestal and none could set foot upon it until after the coming battle.
"tried to wrest Jupiter’s staff from him. " Hmpf! I believe the pictures show how Franz indeed took the staff from you! And it would still be in his possession - as leader of Paws - if you didn't trick him into letting go of it.
Also, as a side note, included in the extra fine print of the contract for participating in this adventure - All participants are honorary initiates of the village of Paws and are hereby and forever forsworn to uphold any and all rules that are now or which at some future point might be instated. WMUAHAHAHAHAHA (Terms for release require death, and rezzing. Upon rezzing, you will not longer be perma-GREY, but you will be come perma-GREY again should you participate in a future event) hahahaha
Why am I not surprised! The schemes of this grey one is neverending! However, now that Franz is officially part of Paws his courtship of Freemaiden @Sherelle could no longer be objected by Jupiter!
