    Hi,

Might be obvious answer to this. But i don't know

Is it illegal to tame and collect sheep, put them on 1 tile in your house and sheer them (obviously not afk) but would setting this kind of thing up be illegal?

    thanks in advance

It's legal. In fact, it's the most common use for the "fortress" style home on UOR.

Not illegal. But, depending on house, your sheep pen wont be safe from attackers. Usually sheep pens that can be attacked (earthquake, meteor swarm) WILL be attacked.

I had a sheep pen last longer in the open land (some hidden place) than at my house

Hmm. oh. ok. do the sheep vanish after 24 hrs? like many other things? Even though it sounds like i won't have my sheep for that long

No if you keep sheering them constantly. Creatures despawn from a house after 24hrs, but, sheered and unsheered sheeps have different ID, thus, will remain.

Putting them on one sq is a bad idea.

There are humane sheep treatment mechanics in UO:R

if you keep too many sheep on a square you will get a msg saying "this sheep is starting to look unhealthy" or something like that

and the sheep will eventually despawn

also the rate of wool regrowth is determined by how many sheep you have within a small area.

optimal regrowth rate is 1 hour when you have less than 10 sheep

    it drops thereafter

if you have > 50 sheep you will similarly get the unhealthy msg and sheep will start despawning.

Personally i have about 35 penned off in a decent sized enclosure.

Doesnt take much to shear them with a script or macro. Just watch out for AFK resource gumps.
