I answered you in IRC already. No - See this thread where there is no mention of any Big Fish in the results from 500 nets: http://uorforum.com/threads/special-fishing-nets-by-the-numbers.17261/

Further, if you look at the total number of fish steaks (592), there's no way that cut-up big fish were part of that count. There would have been significantly more fish steaks if that were the case given that you get 1 per serpent.

Turns out the bottle didn't get very far from the ship before this serpant swallowed it up
