What cold winter chill is borne this eve To cast a frozen shadow upon the pond Whose sapphire waters were ever warm. Jupiter came to investigate and found a terrible surprise. The essence of the Sapphire Maiden had been taken from the pond! She was forcibly removed, the ice that was once the pristine water Clearly bore the scars of a fierce resistance. The only clues left Were some odd runic symbols, a star chart of sorts. The maiden was able only to share where she had been taken, but by whom, Jupiter could only presume they were powerful indeed to have extracted The maiden against her will. Jupiter sent word to the realm to all who had signed their will to join when there was need. Many came to Jupiter’s call! From the House of Oor’Tael came Gene Kelly, the Lady Narya Littlefoot, and the valorous knight Eleint Stormhold sent their might with Phaedrus and Erza Scarlet The Order of Skulls sent Chief Osceola with a quiver full of arrows The fearless warrior of Nature, RheLjik came with ax in hand to fight on our behalf. And to Jupiter’s great delight, many warriors from Paws arrived, Proletarian the Precise, Cortland Andrus of a thousand strikes, Hugo Rowntree the cleaver of foes, the Brave Sir Orrin of unsoiled pants (mostly), and Kristopher Khan the Secret Weapon. When all had gathered atop the tower, Jupiter explained to them that they would need to be geared to face evil the likes of which they’d never encountered. When all agreed to risk life to save the maiden, they entered the pond. Hugo’s bulky figure was clearly difficult for him to manage in such close proximity. As he turned slightly, (or so he thought) he dashed the fountain to shards. Being brittle and frozen didn’t help the situation, but as he fumbled to try and collect the falling broken shards he again shattered more of the ice. He coughed as he regained his composure, “You uhh.. might need to call a fontsmith to fix this…” Jupiter sealed the way to the pond, and then read the cryptic runic symbols… then all went dark. Their goal was to find the essence of the sapphire maiden and return her to her true physical form. The dark elves were insistent that she remain with them, for what ill purposes Jupiter knew not, but the group bravely fought and vanquished the evil commander and saved the sapphire maiden!
The Village of Paws and her allies assembled before departing to find their village spirit the crystal maiden! Everyone cautiously entered the maiden's pool, which was now frozen and devoid of the magic her spirit normally brings. The Paws Posse is transported to a tent near the maiden's magical presence and moves forward. It didn't take long for the battle to reach a fever pitch! Jupiter does his best to escort the now rescued but not fully restored maiden through the massive melee. Jupiter's elemental servant provides light for the posse. I finally did it -- I found bigfoot in UOR. #FindingBigfoot The Maiden returned to her pond and the injured collected the Knights of Stormhold Phaedrus (me) and Ezra Scarlet return home for a long rest. WHAT AN ADVENTURE! That'll go down in the history books Jupiter! What a night!
