Something that I have been trying to do for awhile now is to relive the experience I had from playing UO back during the Renaissance/T2A era of UO. Unfortunately, I know that it will never be the same as it was and with the use of 3rd party programs it just makes it even less possible. I started playing UO back around the end of The Second Age on an account that my brother and I shared. I was very young back then and I don't remember that much of what I did during T2A besides running into the woods and getting killed. I remember a bit more from the Renaissance era of the game than I do of T2A. One thing that I miss is just actually playing the game from the moment that I create a character and enter the UO world. While this can still be done, most people just afk macro their character. Because of this, it makes for a very bland adventuring experience without encountering others (OSI was full of people everywhere). So the whole point of this post is to find other people that would like to create new characters and play the game as it was back then and with others that do the same. This means only using the UO client with no 3rd party programs (razor) and only playing on one character at a time. I would also like people to not receive "help" from people that do use 3rd party programs with their character (freebies, freeresist, macroed their character, having them kill things for you). What I'm looking for is naturalists at their purest. If you already have a naturalist then I am fine with adventuring with them and/or you still want to use razor to connect to the shard then I can look the other way (I used to double click my bandages to heal). If you would like to play without having to use razor to log in then you'll probably need to decrypt your client. In order to only use my UO client without razor I had to decrypt it by using a program on my client.exe (in your UO folder) which I downloaded from here. It can also be downloaded from my dropbox. going to start mine. just set a time and day per week and i am sure blaise and myself would be more than willing to kill stuffs for a few hours..
I applaud your play style. I may go this route on one character but I'm not ready to yet. I've GM'd too many templates without macros to want to do it again just yet.
Actually, I enjoy just running around the map , I have a semi naturalist. She did partake of the resist party and raised healing via razor macroing while there. The character is about two years old and this was the first time she marcoed. I seldom use razor macroing, I perfer to raise skills old school. In fact my play style hasn't changed much since the good old days. Although, I don't attack reds or grays on sight as pvp is not my play style, and if they don't engage me, I'd rather chat. lol You'd have to look the other way about using razor to access the game, I am so non-tech I wouldn't even attempt to decrypt any thing.
