Hello all, after much research and testing I have created a video to explain how hirelings work. This video guide contains all the information but I have listed some of the main details below.

    Hired time:
    30 minute base
    +31 minutes per said days

    1 day = 61 minutes
    2 days = 92 minutes
    3 days = 123 minutes
    and so on...

    Hireling / Follower types:

    Bard: 16 STR / HP
    Uses bows and melee weapons

    Begger & Peasent: 26 STR / HP
    Uses fists and melee weapons

    Pirate & Sailor: 86 STR / HP
    Uses mostly sword melee weapons

Fighter: range of 40-100 STR / HP
    Uses melee weapons and shields

Paladin: range of 90-100 STR / HP
    Uses melee weapons and shields

Can hirelings be trained? Has anyone checked if their stats change after sparring?

Also, do they disappear still after so long?

    This is great!

Does lore work on them to find their stats?

Yes to both, their stats and skills can be increased through training.

After the hired time expires, they do disappear. Only way to keep them around is to pay for 19 days at a time and release/rehire them before they disappear. That 19 days gets you 10.5 real hours, at which time they go wild without food anyhow.

Bards and stuff won't run out of arrows too right?

I am pretty sure the hirelings arrows never run out much like a ratmen archer. During my 15 minute test fight with a dragon, none of the archer-bards ran out of arrows.

However, unlike a ratmen archer the missed arrows never appear on the ground and their bows do lose durability over time.

interesting! By the way, I'm almost certain there are ranger npcs in skara that you can hire. Ranger npcs are usually nearby the Skara tailor shop if i'm not mistaken...I wonder what kind of stats they have?

I just double checked, the ranger NPC is a vendor that sells animals and archery stuff. Sadly there is no better form of hired archer then the 16 STR/HP bards that do VERY little damage.

It would be cool to have a few more hireling options.

Just so nobody wastes their time:

If you hire some and train them, their weapons degrade in durability roughly in proportion to the same rate their damage would have increased due to stat and skill gains. Making training more or less pointless. Eventually, their weapon will break, leaving you with a 4x GM wrestle dexer, which is effectively useless except for tanking damage I guess.

I have trained a bard archer up to 100 str via macro. But sadly theiw bows break around 20 str so it kind of defeats the purpose.

If Telamon would allow you to re-arm them, it would be more fun to play around with these, but possibly also a bit overpowered....
