There seems to be a serious imbalance in the spawn for Faction Monsters. While the most useful of all are the wisps, neutral to CoM, they are widespread and even found heavily around SL stronghold. The daemons can be found in half a dozen or more spawns around the lands. The same can be said for silver serpents (albeit Tracking makes this easier). The ogre lords however, Minax' mob, only spawns in one place which also happens to be a Champion Spawn Altar. I would like to suggest that arctic ogre lords be added to the Minax faction mob group, to provide an improved number of spawn locations for them. I would also like to see more Silver Serpent spawns on Magincia and fewer wisps, considering there's wisps spawning around SL base. Furthermore, I wouldn't mind seeing a single slow spawn of each faction mob in the respective bases, unable to wander out of it.
I was planning on joining factions soon, but I thought this imbalance was intentional, because the factions with the "worse" monster spawns had advantages in other areas. Beyond this spawning issue, are they otherwise relatively even?
Silver drops are standard, but there's very few locations where you will encounter any faction mob other than wisps during normal faction combat. That tends to get pretty troublesome for everyone but CoM. Having only a single place to hit up ogres for farming silver+gold just seems short. It's not a major concern but it would be nice to see the arctics in the same group.
I can agree with Blaise that artic ogres should be added to the faction monster list. And although I hate wisps, I'd say leave them alone and don't change up the spawns.
Yeah, they are manageable. I wouldn't mind seeing them a bit less frequent (ie: 2+ on the same 2-3 screen area) but it's not a game breaker.
Bump for great justice (and balance)! Half the time we want to farm silver consistently, like every other faction can in like half a dozen places with Daemons, there's a champ running. Pretty please, with factions on top, add the arctics to the list.
I am against this. There are pro's and con's to each faction monster spawn. This is one of your cons. Demons are not as easily farmable as OL's. It sucks that there are more demons out there to farm but that doesn't make it any easier to physically farm them. OL's you can sit on that island all day and cast BS and farm afk.
I can think of at least 4 daemon spawns with multiple daemons at the spawn that are equally as easy to farm as OLs and none of them are any where close much less directly on top of a champ spawn.
I'm sorry, please explain to me how it is not easier to farm daemons when there's literally half a dozen spawn points to find them in. Not only that, in Hedge Maze there's ample room to run around and other things to provoke them on, just like Hythloth...Fire Dungeon...etc etc. You cannot AFK farm with Blade Spirits unless you don't care about assholes coming in to flag on your BS in order to kill you, and various other reasons that make that statement completely ludicrous. Did you even read/comprehend what you just typed before hitting enter? You claim they are not as easy, but I do not see anything to substantiate such a claim. Ogre Lords spawn in a SINGLE location with ONE entrance to the area and you can't even recall to them directly. I understand it is nice to have an upper hand, but we're trying to balance the shard, last time I checked. Let's also move on to consider how many daemon Slayer weapons are out there versus Repond/Ogre Thrashing. Not sure how much you've farmed, but I've got at least a 4x multiple of Daemon Slayers to Ogre/Repond. Could you perhaps suggest any Pros to the current faction monster spawn as it pertains to balance? I mean, aside from knowing exactly where any SL will be farming silver when they have the reason to.
Here's the nuts and bolts, or at least the way I look at factions. Factions is for PvP, thus most people don't have a character in factions that is just for farming silver. I think it's safe to say that you guys all go to OL's on a faction mage, one capable of farming OL's and PvPing. Demons are a tricky bitch. You can't blade spirit them down like you can OL's. You need a peacer or a tamer, or a lot of mana/time/regs. It's not easy to farm demons, I know, I have farmed them for silver myself but I had to throw one of my peacers into factions for a week to do it. Demon slayer weapons are NOT as common as Repond, at least not for me. Even if I brought one of my faction dexxers down there with a demon slayer weapon I would still get owned, they hit hard and can throw a nasty combo.. I don't think I should be forced to throw a pvm template into factions to farm silver, thus I don't think it should be made any easier for other factions to farm silver either by increasing areas to farm. Tell you what, make it so that OL's can dispel blade spirits and you can have all the AOL's you want.
Sounds great, considering I rock a lumberjack and sitting around spanking blade spirits is quite possibly one of the last ways you will ever find me farming. When I wasn't SL, I rocked Daemons all day at Hedge Maze, on my dexxer, with like a daemon might sword (not even an axe) and got by just fine. I go to OLs, taking 35 damage hits and I'm stuck on this little island with no other options at all to mix up the monotony of farming silver. Sure, I can blade spirit with my stun mage that I don't really enjoy playing, so I can sit there like a dink and wait for some jackoff to come flag me on my blade so they can ruin my shit. I don't even use BS/EV on my bard for the very same reason, I just hide until a second mob spawns. Orrrrr, we could just make two EXISTING spawns flagged orange for the sake of not making OLs the ONLY viable spot to farm silver for SL faction purposes. It literally changes nothing other than how many places you have to check if you're hunting SL in times of town control.
