I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but here is what happened: I had 2 bonded dragons, and a bonded mare resist training in my tower overnight. They were fine when I left them at 2am cst(4/27/19), and when I checked on them at around 9:45-10:00am cst(4/27/19) the same morning, the mare was fine sitting in the same trapped tile, but the dragons were gone. I checked my follower count, and I was at 2 of 8. So the dragons were not dead and in ghost form, but just gone. The time frame was less than I have seen any tame unbond, go wild and despawn, so I think this was a bug of some kind. I can no longer see my 2 dragons on the compendium under my character name. I did take screen shots of them this morning as I was instructed by my guildies just in case they could be brought back. Can anyone look into this to see what may have happened? Or by some miracle, get them back for me? They were at the end of their training and would have been either 6x or 7x gm dragons with very decent stats. I tried to submit an in game request, but I am not sure if that goes to UOR staff or not. I also tried to message Telamon in IRC with no response. And to be honest, I didn't expect a response due to him being a very busy person. so i'm hoping that maybe this will get more of a response by either him, or other Renaissance staff. Any help would be most greatly appreciated, as I am still a fairly new player (3 months or so), and those dragons are quite valuable to me. PS I also checked the pet summoning ball to see if they could be located to no avail, nor were they in the stable by some chance.
Could their happiness have been a factor? Were they being fed or do you have an adequate "All Guard Me" in your macro to keep their loyalty? My guess is the dragons went wild, one killed the other off and the mare finished off the other. Just a guess though. Never heard of pets vanishing for no reason.
I do have built in all stay commands into my macro. It’s the same macro I have used on them a few times, and for longer periods of time at that. They were also fed recently. Edit- also, even if they killed each other, wouldn’t they be ghosts? They wouldn’t have gone wild and despawned within 10 hours would they? Assuming they went wild right as I started my macro..
If they went wild before they died, then no ghost. But I haven't run into that circumstance before. Not sure if an all stay command affects loyalty, I just know that all guard me does. And that's all I use for my pet training macros with no issues. My pets never get fed. I'm not sure how quickly pets go wild if there is nothing boosting their loyalty while they are aggressive. Sorry you lost your pets, I know it sucks especially going through trying to find decent ones and the bonding process.
At this point, I am hoping it was a bug. My mare was still at wonderfully happy status with the same macro. Unless they have different commands related to happiness status.
I would assume, as Hollywood said. Its far more likely something was overlooked, then a bug took place. Pets Gain +1 loyalty with "all guard me" Dragons are kind of temperamental, and if they didn't start as wonderfully happy, or missed a few commands in a row, their happiness can snowball real fast, because the more unhappy they are the more they resist commands. They go wild, removing the bonded status. then get killed and completely disappear. Especially if you are training with others, the blue pets will all gang up on the ones that go wild and kill the grey monsters. Since, you tried the pet summon ball, and checked your control slots, this seems like it could be the only outcome.
Any sucessfull command increases happiness, its just that all guard me is the command that has the most chance of sucess. (can't find numbers right now) Even with all guard me, there is a chance that your pets will go wild from spamming commands. (due to the small chance of failure, and the fact that one failure makes more failures likely). The fact that your bond slots went down to 2, shows that your dragons went wild, and were no longer under your command. As soon as they die wild, and the corpse disappears, there is no trace. Best bet, don't spam pet commands in macros, you'll get away with it until you don't. I use a door opening and closing to break line of sight in my keep, to do pet training with no commands. I regularly leave them for 8-12 hours with no issues and have only had to feed them once to get them to listen. If your pets are bonded, at max happiness, and you are not spamming commands, they should be able to stay under your control for probably 20 hours. (ive never fully tested that)
Sadly, I've had this happen as well to a nightmare I was training. Feeding them regularly makes a big difference.
Feeding must be included in long term unattended pet training. For sure they went wild due to a series of command fails and time dropping happiness with em
If it happened to be from a series of failed all guard me commands, it would have been a rare experience. My guild mates and I have always used the same macro with only All Guard Me and no feeding. And we use the macro for days at a time. Never any issue with their happiness dropping below wonderfully. Have never lost a pet and they have never had meat in a training session.
These are the macros I use. I'm sure times can be adjusted for better magery gains, but it has always worked just fine for me and never any loyalty issues.
