So because Guerry cancelled his bid, does my original bid at 250k stand then?

    Grey area.
Seen a lot of UO guys pull out of auctions.

Looking at the time stamps, your bid was 12mins after the previous bid was edited.
    Then questioned it 16hrs later......

Bid stands IMO, and trade forum ban for Guerry, but alas I'm a dictator with no power on these forums.

EDIT - Obvious edit without removing original message helps, but I do recall @The Hammer withdrawing from an auction before and paying up the difference, however that was a mega millions auction for some major trammel or epic fort or something ridiculous that only 1%-er's can afford.

Thanks for the comment T3h D4ve. I appreciate the feedback and will handle MY auctions as i see fit. I do feel that an auction is PAY TO PLAY. If you bid, you should follow through. Obviously Guerry decided to bid on a later auction http://uorforum.com/threads/93-treasure-maps-for-sale-bo-lowered.13897/.

I havent made a bad sale yet and dont plan too now!

Contact me in IRC fellas, I should be around for a few hours.

PS. Level 2's still for sale!!!

I think you better have some substance to back up claims like that if you go around making them. I have seen Guerry retract from 2 or 3 bids, but 1 person does not equate to "a lot of UO guys" pulling out of auctions. If you care to do a search and show some proof of this slander, do go right ahead. But until then, please refrain from talking about people as a group when the only thing coming out of your mouth is regurgitated nonsense.

If anyone should deserve a forum ban, it should be the people that try to sway public opinion with this toxic vomit with no substance.

After further looking at the post, you wasn't even bidding on this auction, so why did you feel the need to stick your nose into other people's auctions and slander people with false accusations? The bidder was asking the "seller" if the bid stands. Not asking some random "village idiot" if a bid would stand or not. Your opinion obviously didn't matter to the bidder or to the seller.

Next time you go saying things about the UO guild as a whole, without any substance to back up your slander...how about you come to me first and address it as a problem instead of trying to sway public opinion about a group of people that you know nothing about.

Sorry for posting this in your trade post Merry Pranksters and I will pay the difference in the bid if Guerry's retracted bid caused you to lose any money. Thanks.[/quote]

Well, I don't NEED pixels, but I do WANT pixels, so happily flick through the trade forum regularly, occasionally looking in the discussion thread to see what's happening but 95% of my posts are buying/selling.

Within an auction, there is standard procedure.....bidding and waiting. It's also a handy reference for price checking in the future, as long as the thread itself isn't fragged.
It also makes sense to not bid on items you can't afford.

Now Dyne, if you hadn't gone 'holier than thou' on me and re-read my post before running your mouth, you'd see it was more aimed at Melocabre's (sorry dude) delay in posting on a non-refreshed webpage due to the 12min delay on the bid; it happens, however props for fronting the difference on the bid.

Now for evidence to back up my FACTS since you called it out Dyne-i-o.

Nov 4; Oct 7; Oct 7 pt2; Sept 10; Aug 15; And enough of that.
I figured I've helped enough people and been around long enough without screwing anyone over that my word would be taken at face value, but alas, there's always the need to go through a papertrail to please someone.
If you want me to go through the rest of the UO members posts and list what's been pulled out on, I can, but it doesn't seem to allow me to go back further than June, but I can recall seeing it regularly enough to remember it.

Stormhold- Good. House of Oor'Tael-Good. Paws-Good. TT/T_T-idk the difference but BAD.
If you wear guild or faction tags, you WILL get tarred with the same brush. Just ask SL.

You know ppl cancel bids or Edit posts all the time, if the auction last 48 hrs, a lot can happen in that time, even a better deal my appear, so u r not forced to do anything. Like that auction i went after, i was winning, and the owner decided to add a +100k BO wile i was sleeping and i lost with out even knowing lol.

Yup, I just have major issues with total edits where the original post is removed.
Means the internet time machine must be used to see what it was.

But same for all purchases, the grass is always greener on the other side. Many times I've wanted to withdraw my bid from an auction either to save my gold or buy something else, a couple of times someone saved me with a higher bid, most times I just ended up buying it.
It's like ebay, refuse to pay up for items won enough times, and the overlords will say no more.

Anywho, enough derailing, this is still an active auction!....another thing I have issues with.....chatter in trade.

    EDIT-
Will respond to the following post (@Dyne ) once this auction is concluded. Got more important research to do tonight, such as the effects of tequila.

T3h D4ve...read my post again. 1 person doesn't equal "a lot of UO guys". All the posts you listed were the same person. So once again, your claim was substanceless.

We had already established that 1 person had retracted bids. In your reply, you attempted to smear a whole guild. And like I said...before you post comments such as that. Do your research FIRST.

WOW! So much interest in auction practices! o_O

    1. I decided to let Melochabre 's original bid stand, I didn't want to charge him more due to someone else lack of auction etiquette. Melochabre volunteered to split the difference without being asked showing excellent character! Those KoS guys are ALLRIGHT in my book!

    2. Dyne, thank you for the kind gesture of putting up the extra funds for your guildy, but I wont accept. (feel free to bid the LVL 2's ;))

    3. Guerry, I have to disagree that its common practice to cancel/retract bids. With all do respect, please refrain from bidding on any of my further auctions.
