This is less of a "request/suggestion" and more of a reminiscing rambling. I remember way back when on OSI that you could kill chaos/order guards and get their shields. It was a PITA from what I remember, would take multiple people and quite a while but eventually you could kill them (even in town if I remember). I think they eventually changed it so you couldn't do it. The shields weren't overly useful but they sure looked cool. Does anyone else remember this? What "Era" would that be when that was an option? Is being a Chaos/Order guild the only way to get the shields here?
It was around the AoS era that let anybody equip them. This is from http://www.uoguide.com I remember being able to kill guards AFTER this change and loot the shields, but I don't remember being able to do it during the UO:R era.
Thanks for digging that up - I sure don't remember when you were able to do it. I remember doing it on Atlantic back in Blackthorns castle. You'd have to block in a guard all alone and go to town on him. I wish I could remember if it was before you could actually join the Chaos/Order guard. Part of me thinks it would be cool if you could get them here as a random loot for taking the time to kill guards. I'll be curious if anyone else remembers killing Chaos/Order guards way back in the day to get a shield from the corpse.
